About Julia Wallace




Julia Claire Wallace is a Houston Artist that works in a variety of media, including performance, video, social practice, spoken word, painting and writing. She has performed with and without permission in a variety of contexts, from art galleries to bars to grocery stores. She grew up in Houston, Texas and received her BFA in painting from the University of Houston in 2009. She has served as a facilitator to Performance Art Lab, one of Houston’s most mischievous art collectives, and was one of the founding members of their guerilla flash dance project sexyATTACK. She is the creator and curator of Houston’s Performance Art Night. Her personal art often explores spirituality, desire and the awkward spaces between human beings. Her art is often shockingly honest, yet paired with an intimate sincerity.
